Data Analyst (Entry-level)

Sentis is a market research and business consulting company. We help clients understand their customers, competitors and employees. We work with private and public sector organizations across a range of industry sectors. Our projects often start with research: but we do more than just summarize facts and figures; we interpret the results and help our clients make better decisions.

We're looking for someone who...
  • Has a diploma or bachelor’s degree in a related field, such as data analytics, business analytics, statistics, mathematics, or economics. (Those with advanced degrees are welcome to apply but remember this is an entry-level position).
  • Loves solving problems and learning new things.
  • Seeks the company of other friendly, motivated people who work together and celebrate successes as a team.
What you'll do here...
  • Clean, quality check, and wrangle data across a wide range of industry sectors, each project comes with unique needs and challenges
  • Process and tabulate structured and unstructured data
  • Mine data from a variety of sources to better understand our clients’ customers
  • Develop, through exploratory data analysis and iterative testing, models that can be used to reliably predict responses, behaviours, and outcomes
  • Create data visualizations that illustrate data relationships, trends, and patterns
  • Apply statistical and analytical techniques to derive meaning from data
  • Compile and analyze internal data to optimize business processes
  • Program questionnaires into our online survey platform
  • Schedule survey invitations and reminders
  • Ensure standards for quality control, data confidentiality and privacy are implemented
Things that the successful candidate will also have...
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Excel (bonus points for knowing either SPSS, R or Python)
  • Basic understanding of market research fundamentals, including sampling, surveying, and data interpretation
  • Excellent problem-solving skills
  • Some experience with data visualization tools (Power BI or Tableau)
  • A keen eye for detail – an obsession with accuracy comes in very handy here
  • Eagerness to learn new things
  • The ability to write and communicate clearly
  • Not afraid to ask questions
  • A sense of humour
Where you’ll work

Most of us enjoy working from home so we’ll be keeping that option available for team members. If remote working is not your thing we have an office at Brentwood, with easy parking and right on transit.
